It was the Holi of 2024 when it all started. It was a holiday for me and while I did not have anything to do in the evening I was actively looking for some activity. Suddenly an idea crossed my mind, "What if I start my own blog?" I definitely liked that Idea and decided to work on it immediately (I am the kind of person who starts working on ideas if I like them. I prefer not to procrastinate them). I went on to the search engine to find which app is free of cost for blogging. I downloading the app and created my first blog within next one hour.
Day one was absolutely thrilling. I had created a short 5 sentence blog but I was happy that at least I got myself on the track. I used to write during my school and college days however as I started working my creative writing took a step back. My writing had become as rare as the leap year. But with this new venture I was looking forward to write more regularly.
Initial few months were definitely difficult for me. I had not created any concrete plan towards which topics I was going to cover. I had no idea what I was going to write about. I had not decided the frequency at which I was going to write. I had not even decided whether I am going to write regularly or occasionally. Beginning of the journey was the first step but the path after that looked foggy. I am not ashamed to say that I had no plan of action. I knew that I definitely needed some plan for proceeding ahead.
My blog was not taking shape as I had expected. I was unable to find inspiration for writing. Occasionally I would find something interesting worth writing but again this did not have any fixed frequency. Somewhere it was bothering me that I am not successfully working towards my dream of becoming a blogger. I did not have any solution towards writing more consistently and frequently.
In first year of blogging I had hardly created 15 blogs. It was neither bad nor good enough to be considered as an achievement. It was only after one and half year after starting my blog I finally got an appropriate guidance and direction towards how to proceed with my vision.
One day I was at the office with my friends having a coffee break. A colleague happened to mention the book called 'Atomic Habits'. I was definitely aware of this book. I had read a couple of chapters of this book at one of my cousin's home. I had not completed the book though. Somehow that discussion catalysed my blogging journey. Though at that time I was not thinking about blogging, I did not know this book was going to change my journey towards blogging.
After our discussion I decided to buy the book atomic habits instead of asking my friends or relatives to lend it to me. I felt it was a book that would be useful to have it in my book collection. I ordered the book and once it was received I read it within 2 days. What I learnt from this book took me on the right path to become a blogger.
This is my journey of transformation from a casual writer to a professional blogger.
Starting a new venture and feeling lost about the next steps, do you
