The Double Standard We Ignore

The Double Standard We Ignore

Zamil and Zaryab’s story highlights a double standard we see in real life too. Zamil knew Zaryab was open-minded and still chose to be with her, but later wanted a more “pious” wife for marriage. Wanting a partner with certain values is completely valid, but accepting someone for years and then judging her for the same qualities feels unfair. The real issue is accountability—if those differences mattered, they should have been addressed honestly from the beginning.

This is such a real-life double standard. Wanting a pious partner is valid, but expecting it from someone while ignoring your own past is seriously hypocritical.
