Loved reading through this. Sometimes we keep the tickets as souvenirs and later forget about them. But the effort to remember the very day and event is an enjoyable mental gymnastic. Sometimes the journey is more beautiful than the destination, hence we remember the journey. your story inspired me to find books to see if I had kept old tickets too.

This has such a quietly intriguing mystery to it. I love how an ordinary old ticket turns into a whole unanswered story about a journey you may or may not remember. That ending especially makes you wonder about the stranger behind the ticket—and where their story went after that train left. 🚂✨
