I think added to this is also the capitalist use of entertainment. Baudrillard explains that television and any form of entertainment really was the source of numbing the mind after tireless work. This television in turn provided ads that ingrained upon mind the symbolic value of things you dont even need, creating needs, insecurity, alienating, stress of competition, vulnerability and fear and anxiety if life!
