You Are Not One Person

I think one of the strangest things about being human is that we exist in completely different ways around different people.

With some, I'm loud and unthinking; with others, calculating and afraid to speak. With some, I uncover hidden parts of myself; with others, I realize how much I hide from myself.

Maybe I am all of these things at once. We are a series of memories, conversations, and people who left something behind in us.

Perhaps when we lose someone, it's not that they took something away, but that they knew a version of us we will never see again.

True. Our actions depends on the person we are dealing with. Moreover I loved the title.👍

This is so true. We act different as per the people around us. None of our behavior is fake, it is as real as it could get. But the code switching is essential to blend in or stand out.

Exactly. Different settings bring different version of ourselves.✨💫

This is such a beautiful way of looking at identity. I especially loved the last thought—sometimes losing a person feels like losing access to a version of ourselves that only existed in their presence. Maybe people don’t just leave memories behind; they become part of the versions of us that we carry forward. And perhaps that’s why certain people can be gone from our lives but still quietly exist in who we became because of them.

Beautifully written. It shows that love and connection never truly disappear;
