The Woman Upstairs
Every morning at exactly 7:15, someone upstairs dropped something.
Bang.
Every single day.
One day I finally went upstairs.
An old woman opened the door.
I asked politely,
“Aunty, what keeps falling every morning?”
She looked embarrassed.
“My alarm clock.”
I stared at her.
“Every day?”
She nodded.
“It falls when I try to turn it off.”
I laughed.
The next morning, there was no sound.
No bang.
No alarm.
Nothing.
I got worried and went upstairs.
She opened the door smiling.
“I bought a new alarm.”
“Problem solved?”
She nodded.
“Completely.”
Then she whispered,
“But honestly… I miss throwing the old one.”

The stories and experiences with elderly are always fascinating. They try to embrace the new technology but the old ones are always dear to them. Maybe it is for the convenience or nostalgia.
Sometimes the solution works so well that you end up missing the problem That last line genuinely made me laugh. 😭😂
maybe she was so lonely that the sound made her feel someone's presence or maybe it was given by her husband kr friend or someone special.... I'm sorry I don't know but it was so special for her, atleast I think that it was 🤷🏻♀️😅
