I’ll grow definately

I don’t know exactly who I am going to become. And honestly, that used to scare me.I wanted answers. I wanted to know where I would be five years from now, what I would be doing, who would still be beside me, what kind of person I would become, and whether the things I was struggling with today would eventually make sense.I wanted some kind of guarantee that everything would work out. But life doesn’t really give guarantees. It gives days. Some beautiful. Some ordinary. Some painfully confusing. And somehow, we are expected to build a life out of them.Maybe that is what growing up actually is.Not suddenly knowing everything. Not becoming perfectly disciplined, perfectly confident, perfectly successful or perfectly healed.Maybe growing up is simply learning to say:“I don’t know yet. But I’ll gro

One morning, I woke up feeling unusually…

One morning, I woke up feeling unusually frustrated. I had been worrying about several things at once—my future, responsibilities, and whether I was making the right decisions in life. Nothing seemed to be going according to the way I had planned. While having breakfast, I noticed my mother quietly doing her usual household work. She had been awake for hours, preparing food and taking care of different things, yet she never complained about how tiring her day going to be.I asked her how she managed to remain so calm despite having so much to do. She smiled and said, “Every day does not have to be perfect. We just have to do what we can and leave the rest for Tommarow It was a simple answer, but I kept thinking about it.I realised that I had been making my life more difficult by expecting e

Adulting Was Never in the Syllabus

Nobody really warns you about the strange moment when childhood quietly ends. There is no ceremony, no certificate, no dramatic soundtrack. One day, you are worrying about homework, cartoons, birthdays, and asking your parents for pocket money. Then suddenly, you are expected to understand bills, careers, bank accounts, deadlines, family responsibilities, and the mysterious question, “What are you doing with your life?” For Gen Z middle class kids, adulting feels especially confusing. We grew up hearing that education would create opportunities, hard  work would create stability, and a good career would create a comfortable life. We believed it because our parents believed it. They built their lives around sacrifice. They saved money instead of spending it, chose practical careers over pa

Feeling of lost

It was first day of my college. Firstly I was not aware about the college hence,I took a auto ride, that auto rider wasn't aware of the college too and he left me in between and took ₹15 from me. Somehow I managed to reach the college after 1 hours roaming here and there. I attended the lecture and felt very bad about the class , the class wasn't the same i expected before, i started thinking I will not survive for the two consecutive years and while attending third lacture I got to know it's not PG class but instead it was UG's lecture. After hearing these words from one student i took a sigh of relief. Thank God it wasn't my class and i revisted the time table and I became happy. That day instead of going to my PG class i went back to home and next day i attended my class and my batchmat

ABOUT HER...

Writing and adding texts upon seems so delusional to me that I can't even find vocabulary to define her... This little thing is so proclaimed to me that it matters to me no matter what I do or whenever I do... All I want sometimes is her, sometimes I want her to be with me holding my shoulder right next to her face, cuddling, giggling and doing what makes her happy. I want her to feel secure, comfortable & safe when she's around me, I don't want her to feel the gitty, the silence awkwardness around me, I want her to be loved and to be loving. I am improving myself, improving myself to be something better, better that she loves even more, even more when it matters.

Barophobia

I have recently realised the obsession we have with land or a solid ground and our ability to stand on it. That is a power bestowed on us by the universe in the way that it functions - basically, the gravitational pull. But we somehow seem to forget it and have begun to believe it as given. Only in times of calamities is when we get this wake up call, of our existential insignificance in this expansive universe. I guess that belief is what regulates our decisions on land - who owns it, who stays where, and who remains entirely excluded from the politics of ownership. And that exclusion not only pervades marginalised or underprivileged communities of people around the world, but also different species of plants, animals, insects, birds, microorganisms, water bodies and the atmosphere.

Doom Scrolling, But Make It Fun

Doom Scrolling, But Make It Fun

I know doom scrolling gets a pretty bad reputation, and honestly I get why. We have all had those moments where we open Instagram or YouTube for five minutes and suddenly an hour has disappeared. It can make you ridiculously comfortable with doing nothing , keep your brain constantly entertained, and somehow make the idea of getting up and doing actual work feel exhausting. So yes, there’s definitely a side of scrolling that is just terrible for us. But today, I don’t want to talk about that side. Because sometimes scrolling is actually fun, like genuinely stupidly fun. There is something about opening Instagram with absolutely no expectations and suddenly finding the most creative meme someone has made out of the most random situation. People are going through their own lives, dealing wit

What is one thing future-you will be glad you…

What is one thing future-you will be glad you started today? Name the first small step. For me it will be writing sample content papers for my future job role as a content writer . It would be very beneficial for me if I even start writing 3 papers a week to keep on improving myself again and again back and fourth . It’s something I also enjoy doing because there are multiple things and topics to speak about wether it be sports or Bollywood , current affairs etc . It’s something I high - key enjoy . I remember in 4 th grade I use to write about various short form stories and specially horror stories whenever I used to be bored . Those stories used to be read by my classmates who also liked my stories and they used to say that ‘ ‘ you write such amazing stories . It’s good 👍 . So I formed

Nobody tells you growing up feels like this

Nobody tells you growing up feels like this

There are days when I find myself asking, where did my life start going so wrong? I’m studying, working, preparing for the future, and for some reason, I feel as if I’m at a stagnant point. I look at those around me and wonder why they know what they want, while I struggle to find what I desire. I have my good days and bad days. Some days, I feel as if I’ve accomplished something. Some days, I feel exhausted from the simplest of tasks. But perhaps that’s what growing up is: accepting that you will continue to move forward in life regardless of doubts and fears, to fight on for your own sake even if you don’t know what you’re fighting for, and to acknowledge that your path in life is different from those around you. Perhaps I’m not falling behind. Perhaps I’m just growing up.

The Most Unexpected Day

The Most Unexpected Day

Some days start so normally that you have absolutely no idea they’re going to become a memory you’ll remember for years. I had one of those days recently. I woke up late, which already put me in a terrible mood, and the whole morning felt rushed. I couldn’t find my keys, my phone was almost dead, and I was annoyed at basically everything. I had plans for the day, but honestly I wasn’t even excited about them anymore. I just wanted to get through everything and come back home. Then, completely randomly, my plans changed. Someone called and asked if I wanted to go out for a while, and after thinking about it for a few minutes, I said yes. I didn’t even know where we were going. We ended up driving around for almost an hour, listening to old songs and talking about completely random things. A

For a long time, I believed that I needed the right circumstances to start something meaningful. I kept telling myself that I would begin when I had more confidence, more money, more time, or when everything around me felt settled. Somehow, there was always a reason to wait. One morning, I sat near my window and watched people leave for work. Some looked tired, some rushed, and some just tried to get through an ordinary day.I realized that everyone dealt with unseen struggles, yet they still moved forward. I decided to start with something very small.Instead of overthinking my life, I made a simple list of things I could control.I chose one task and finished it. The next day, I did another.Nothing dramatic happened, but slowly, I felt different. What Progress Really Looks Like Progress does

Taking a break or complete Burnout?

Working is the key to independence. And NOTHING is more important than being independent. This is the principle my family raised me on. A very valid one, for sure. It reminds me regularly to never take anything for granted, to stand on my own two feet, to try to do things of merit and value. Most importantly, it has allowed me to live largely on my own terms. While I fully believe that independence comes from knowing what you want and how to make decisions, financial independence gives you the actual means to do that. And nothing can replace the confidence that the experience of working provides, from the people you meet to all the various things you can learn. As a result of this strong belief within my family, I have kept myself occupied with work since I was 14. I started with volunte

Silence within

What is something you got wrong recently — and what did it quietly teach you? You know what I am someone who laughs a lot. Few years back one of my friends asked "look only two kinds of people laugh too much, first, those who are made and second, those who is really sad from inside so what is your category". That day she made me to introspect because I was well aware that yes things are not going smooth for me since the day I was born . Being a second girl child my birth never been the day of joy. Since my birth I have been facing trouble people used to make fun of me when I was just a teenager just because I do not fit in their beauty standard. Moreover, I used to feel bad at that time. But I always had expectations with the god that he will definitely make me the greatest personality amo

my life lesson

A few years ago, I learned an important lesson from a very ordinary situation. One evening, I was returning home after a long and tiring day. On the way, I noticed an elderly man sitting alone on a bench outside a small shop. He looked worried and kept checking his phone. I was already late, so I initially walked past him. After a few steps, something made me stop. I went back and asked if everything was alright. He told me that he was waiting for his son, who was supposed to pick him up, but his phone had stopped working. I helped him make a call from my phone. His son answered and said he would arrive shortly. I could have simply made the call and left, but I decided to wait with him.During those fifteen minutes, we started talking. He told me about his younger days, his family, and how

my comeback

Last year, I experienced a failure that, at the time, felt much bigger than it actually was. I had prepared for an opportunity for several weeks. I followed a schedule, worked late on some days, and imagined how happy I would be if things worked out. When the result finally came, my name was not on the list. For the first few days, I did not want to talk about it. I avoided people and kept thinking about what I had done wrong. What made it worse was seeing others succeed. I was genuinely happy for them, but somewhere inside, I kept comparing their progress with mine. One evening, my father noticed that I was unusually quiet. He did not give me a long lecture or tell me that everything would be fine. He simply asked, “Are you going to let one result decide what you are capable of?”I did not

They Call It Protection. I Call It Exhausting.

They Call It Protection. I Call It Exhausting.

They say they’re protecting me. From bad people. From bad decisions. From going out too much. From trusting the wrong friends. From wearing something they don’t like. From being outside for “too long.” And I understand that they worry. But sometimes I wonder if protecting me means controlling every part of my life. I have to explain where I’m going, who I’m going with, when I’ll come back, why I want to go, and sometimes even why I want to go in the first place. A simple plan with friends can become a whole discussion. “Who will be there?” “Why do you need to go?” “What if something happens?” “Just stay home.” Eventually, you stop asking. Not because you stopped wanting to go. You just got tired of hearing no. You start making excuses instead of explaining the truth. You keep plans to you

The letter arrived

There was nothing unusual about the envelope—plain white, slightly worn at the corners, with my name written across it in handwriting I hadn't seen in years.I stood at the doorway for a long moment before opening it. Inside was a single sheet of paper. 7:17 “Meet me where the old clock stops at 7:17 .”No name. No explanation". At the end of our street stood an abandoned railway station, forgotten after the new line was built. There was an old clock above its entrance that had been stuck at 7:17 for as long as I could remember. I went there that evening. The station looked smaller than I remembered. Dust covered the benches, weeds grew between the tracks, and the silence felt strangely alive. 7:17 At exactly 7:17, I heard the sound of footsteps. I turned around Nobody was there. Then I notic

I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything and That’s the Problem

I Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything and That’s the Problem

There are days when I just don’t feel like doing anything. Not in a deep, emotional way. Nothing is really wrong. I’m not upset, I’m not stressed, I’m not even that tired. It’s just this quiet lack of interest in… everything. The kind where even simple things feel like they require too much effort. I’ll sit there thinking about what I should be doing. I should work. I should study. I should at least start something. But instead, I just stay there. Scrolling. Thinking. Delaying. Telling myself I’ll start in five minutes — and then those five minutes quietly turn into an hour. And the worst part is, it feels harmless in the moment. Nothing immediately falls apart. There’s no instant consequence. No one calls it out. It just feels like I’m taking a break… even when I haven’t really earned o

A MESSAGE from the GOD

A MESSAGE from the GOD

Coming from a middle class family, I too had similar dreams like everybody, to get a stable job, earn and save well, take care of my family and all that. I just graduated and currently doing a job which I got placed in on-campus. While I was waiting for my call letter I used to prepare for govt exams before I could give my attempt, I got the call letter from the company. After getting the call letter from the company. I focused on clearing the training for the meantime. I could not get back on my preparation for government exams. After clearing the training and got placed at location I wanted to get back on my preparation but I felt too lazy and procrastinating. My shift is from 2pm to 11pm, so I wanted to utilise the time I have in the morning. I put alarm at 5.30 am and 6:00 am but st

Life choice

Name the worry that is loudest right now. What is it really about, underneath? Yesterday I met my boyfriend for the last time before he went back to the University. He asked me playfully, "Will you marry me later?" I knew he wasn't that serious but still I did not have an answer. For a good number of days I've been struggling with this thought that what our future will become. The thing is, I am studying medicine and my family is expecting me to marry another doctor. They all think that I would somehow change their status and if I marry another doctor it'll all be sorted (typical brown family). But my boyfriend is going to be a Professor. I know that it is another great job. And I personally love that for him. But what should I do about my family's expectations. They have even put through

The Receipt

When I was seventeen, I hated my father. Not because he was cruel. That would have been easier. He was simply… difficult. He never praised me. Never celebrated my achievements properly. Whenever I showed him a good exam result, he would say, “Good. Do better next time.” When I told him I wanted to buy an expensive phone, he said, “Your old one still works.” When my friends went on trips, he said, “Study first.” I thought he didn't understand me. So when I got my first part-time job, I stopped asking him for money. I wanted to prove that I didn't need him. Months later, I saved enough to buy the phone I had always wanted. I came home holding the box. I expected him to be proud. He barely looked at it. “Don't waste money,” he said. That sentence hurt more than it should have. I shouted, “You

The Wrong Door

Every night, Riya heard someone knocking on her bedroom door. Knock. Knock. Knock. One night, she finally opened it. Nobody was there. But a small golden door had appeared on the wall opposite her. She opened it. Behind it was her own bedroom—but ten years in the future. Future Riya was sitting there, eating chips. She looked at her younger self and screamed, “CLOSE THAT DOOR!” “Why?” “Because tomorrow, you will open it again.” Riya laughed. “Okay, that's weird.” Future Riya stopped smiling. “I’m serious. And whatever you do…” She pointed at the door. “Don't let the man wearing red enter.” Suddenly— Knock. Knock. Knock. Someone was outside. A man in a red shirt whispered, “Riya… open the door.” Riya looked at Future Riya. Future Riya whispered, “Run.” Riya ran. The man in red entered anywa

The Unopened Door

Every night, a mother left her daughter's bedroom door slightly open. Even after her daughter grew up. Even after she moved to another city. Even after she stopped coming home every weekend. The room remained exactly the same. The old books were still on the shelf. Her childhood drawings were still on the wall. And on the bed was the little teddy bear she had once begged her mother to buy. Whenever relatives asked, “Why don't you clean this room and use it for something else?” Her mother always smiled. “She's coming home someday.” But the daughter was busy building her life. College became a job. The job became responsibilities. Responsibilities became years. She called her mother less and less. “I'm busy, Amma. I'll call you later.” And her mother always replied, “Okay, mole. Take care.”

The Man Who Wasn’t Supposed to Laugh

At exactly 2:17 every morning, someone laughed outside Maya’s bedroom window. Not cried. Not whispered. Laughed. A horrible, ridiculous, uncontrollable laugh. “HAHAHAHAHAHA!” The first night, Maya thought it was a drunk man. The second night, she blamed a stray dog. The third night, she opened the window. Nobody was there. Only the old mango tree stood outside, moving slightly in the wind. Then the laughter came again. From inside her room. “HAHAHAHAHAHA!” Maya froze. Her phone was on the bed. Her fan was spinning. Her cupboard was closed. And then her wardrobe spoke. “Can you stop screaming? You're making this unnecessarily dramatic.” Maya stared at it. “...What?” The wardrobe sighed. “Finally. Stop Listening to Fear

Stop Listening to Fear

Fear doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it sounds like a normal thought. “Maybe I’m not ready.” “What if I mess everything up?” “What will people think?” “Maybe I should wait a little longer.” And somehow, those small thoughts become the reason we stop ourselves from doing things we actually want. We overthink before speaking. We imagine every possible way something could go wrong. We compare ourselves with people who seem more confident, more successful, or more sure about their lives. Then we convince ourselves that staying where we are is safer. But is it really? Sometimes, the biggest thing holding us back isn’t a lack of ability. It’s the fear of finding out what happens when we actually try. We’re so scared of making the wrong choice that we forget something important: not choosing

The Last Seat by the Window

Every morning, an old man sat on the same bench at the bus stop. Same time. Same seat. Same silence. People around him knew him, but nobody really knew why he came there every day. One rainy morning, a young girl sat beside him. After a few minutes, she asked, “Are you waiting for someone?” The old man smiled. “Yes.” “Who?” He looked at the empty road and quietly said, “My daughter.” The girl smiled. “Is she coming today?” The old man didn't answer immediately. Then he said, “She used to come here every morning when she was little. I would walk her to school from this bus stop.” The girl noticed the sadness in his eyes. “What happened?” He looked down at his hands. “She grew up.” The girl didn't understand. The Message She Never Sent

At 1:17 a.m., a girl opened her mother's chat. She typed: “Amma, I miss you.” She stared at it. Then deleted it. She typed again: “Are you awake?” Deleted. Then: “I want to tell you something.” Deleted that too. She locked her phone and went to sleep. The next morning, her mother called. “Did you eat?” “Yes.” “Are you going to college?” “Yes.” “Okay. Take care.” That was their usual conversation. Nothing special. And maybe that's why she didn't realize how special it was. Months passed. The girl became busier. Assignments. Exams. Friends. Plans. A thousand little things. Her mother kept calling. Sometimes the girl answered. Sometimes she didn't. The Money in His Pocket

She always complained about her brother. “He never buys me anything.” Whenever her friends showed off gifts from their brothers, she felt a little jealous. Her brother wasn't the type to say “I love you.” He teased her. He fought with her. He stole food from her plate. And whenever she asked for money, he would say, “Ask Amma.” So she thought he didn't care. One day, her college announced a trip. She desperately wanted to go. The fee was more than she could afford. She asked her parents, but money was tight that month. “Maybe next time,” her mother said gently. She pretended she didn't care. “It's okay. I don't even want to go.” But her brother had heard everything. That night, she saw him sitting outside, counting the money in his wallet. She laughed. “Why are you counting your ₹500 like
